First Single Released!
Notably the title track of the whole record for a reason, “From Under the Chestnut Tree," also called “I Am Human," (Also secretly called F.U.C.T) was the creative catalyst for my return to making music.
Written in the midst of the first act of my fight with cancer, it's a little parable about the rise and fall of humanity. In developing the lyrics, I tried to find poetic language that felt “timeless” without leaning too heavily on cliché in order to evoke the existential weight of being human with an urgent spiritual clarity.Largely inspired by the classic pairing of Chemotherapy drugs and Colombian Magical Realism novels, this song drove me back to music after 5 years of silence and set me down to create the album.

It has a driving folksy beat and a gospel-esque melody that aims to stir a rising in the soul with explosive choral swells and an earnest aching hymnal conclusion.
